It seems they were very nostalgic for that game since the new game almost completely lifts the ten-year-old design document straight from it: Let Spidey swing around in an open world, stop some crimes, save some civilians and complete missions that tell a story that only vaguely references the film it’s based on. Indeed, their quality features the same up and down pattern with which the webbed one traverses New York City. His video game legacy however, hasn't always been characterized by those same positive descriptors. Throughout his illustrious crime-fighting career on the comic page, Spider-Man has been described by numerous adjectives.
